HIGH RELEASE HANDLER!

ABOUT THE BLOGGER. So, I thought I’d throw my hat into the Blogging ring. At first, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to write about, but then I was hired as a Residence Director (RD) at an academic enrichment program for the summer of 2010. In addition to my daily RD duties, I would teach an Ultimate (Frisbee) workshop four out of the six weeks of the program. Having played the sport competitively starting in high school at Northfield Mount Hermon, then in college at Hobart and William Smith, continuing in grad school in Denmark and at the time on Long Island, I jumped at the opportunity to pass on my love of the sport (click here to learn more about my disc exploits). It was during the process of completing the necessary course outline that I thought it might be fun to blog about my upcoming summer; thus was born the High Release Handler’s blog.

THE BLOG NAME. I am notorious for throwing high release backhands when I’m handling (though I like being a cutter more), so I thought it would be appropriate to incorporate it into the name of the blog. I don’t know if high releases are my favorite throw, it’s pretty close with Hammers, but I do enjoy them.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND. Anyway, this blog will provide information about Coaching and Playing the sport of Ultimate. I comment on the Upcoming Events that I will be taking part in or going to watch. I review Books on Disc Sports and muse about any other fun things about Ultimate or Disc Sports.

I hope you enjoy my blog!
